German Accent: Excerpt from Women’s Work, Character Greta. by L. Sydney  Smith, Copyright 2013.

I have been an audiobook narrator since 2019. Before that, my passion for literature was expressed through Petaluma Readers Theatre and my local radio show, Not Your Mother’s Storytime. The radio show became a podcast with thousands of listeners who appreciate classic short stories. Finding my way into audiobook narrating was a natural next step.

I studied Theatre Arts at San Francisco State University, but my passion lies in reading stories aloud. I view storytelling as an essential and ancient part of society and civilization. Every culture has its stories and the tellers. I am honored to be one of them and to carry on this tradition.

When not in the booth, I enjoy being lakeside in the mountains, traveling to new places with my husband, caring for my chickens and my special needs adult son, or hanging out with my “coven.” I also enjoy puzzles, knitting, and old movies. I live in Sonoma County, California Wine Country, and yes, I’m a wine snob.
